In this guide, you’ll learn about some of the top 5 unique features that can only be found on an iPhone.
Over the years, the debate over the more feature-packed smartphone operating system between Android and iOS has been on the rise with each system upgrade. This article is not about comparing both operating systems but helping someone who’s planning to switch from an iPhone to an Android device or vice versa, know the software functionalities that only exists on the iOS device as at the time of writing this article.
Top 5 Unique Features That Can Only Be Found on an iPhone
Here are some of the top iOS features that Android devices still don’t have.
iMessage is an instant messaging service, which is found on iPhones by default. It allows users of the iPhone to send messages using an internet connection.
iMessage is not available on the Android OS, but there are some third-party applications that offer similar functionality. I am not talking about the default text messaging app that comes by default on your Android phone.
Just like iMessage, FaceTime is a video calling service that comes pre-installed in your iOS device. This is very popular video calling app among Apple users, but sadly the service is not available on the Android OS.
But a new feature known as iOS 15’s FaceTime on the Web functionality, now allows Android users to join FaceTime calls. Even at that, you’ll still need a friend with an Apple device to actually start the call and send you the link to be able to join.
Although the FaceTime software is popular, Android users also have a similar built-in video calling feature known as Google Duo, but it is not as popular as Apple’s FaceTime because most Android users rely on third-party apps for video calling.
AirPlay is a feature that can only be found on Apple devices. It allows you to share audio, video, device screens, and photos from your Apple device to your Apple TV, speakers, and other popular smart TVs.
4. Drag and Drop
Drag and drop is an iOS feature that allows iPhone users to drag content from one app and drop it into another. This is also similar to the copy and paste options on Android devices, but without the drag and drop functionality.
5. Offloading Apps
Offloading apps is my favorite among the list of unique features that can only be found on an iPhone. This feature allows iPhone users to save storage space by removing unused apps while still retaining their files and data. This means next time you install the app, you’ll still get your previous data and files without having to start afresh.
